Helping the poor during the Ramadan

This is a little encouragement from us and our local and foreign sponsors to lighten your load during Ramadan and during the closing season.

Thanks to donors from the Diyanet Foundation, Turkey has donated 1,000 packages to people in 5 provinces and the capital through the Khmer Islamic Teachers Association and the Cambodian Muslim Development Foundation.

The distribution ceremony of Ramadan food package to 200 poor Khmer Muslim families (50 representatives to receive) from Battambang City and Maung Russey District was presided over by Mr. Pheng Sothy, Battambang Mayor.

These donations are supported by the Diyanet Foundation of Turkey through the Khmer Islamic Teachers Association (CAMTA) in collaboration with the Muslim Development Foundation of Cambodia (CMDF). Each gift package includes 1 kg of fruit, 2 kg of beans, 2 cans of fish, 4 liters of cooking oil, 10 kg of Angkor, 2 kg of sugar and 2 kg of salt.

During the distribution of vegetarian food packages, the process was carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the measures issued by the government properly, with safety gaps, wearing masks and washing hands with alcohol.

It should be informed that in 2021, Diyanet Foundation has provided budget to prepare 1,000 food packages for poor people to be distributed to poor people in 5 capitals and provinces, including Phnom Penh, Kampong Chhnang and Pursat. Battambang and Kampong Thom.

Iftar Ramadan in Cambodia
